Shop My Stash

Hello!
I'm so excited to be doing this post! 'Shop my stash' is a term I've heard a lot in the blogging/youtube world (remember when it was all the rage and every youtuber and their dog did a video on it?), but I never really understood what it meant. Recently I've been seeing a few more blog posts on this same topic popping up on twitter and decided to read a few. Once I understood it more, I realised I've been doing it without even realising! What a genius idea though, seriously, whoever coined this term is a genius.
For anyone who still doesn't know what shopping your stash is, it's basically like going through your makeup (or wardrobe, or anything) and finding products you'd forgotten about instead of buying more of said item -a great money saving tip that we could all use in January! Here's what I found:

Maybelline Fit Me foundation:
I actually bought this not long ago and talked about it in this post, but I didn't use it for too long because it's not as good as other foundations I owned, but it's not terrible. It's a little thick but not so thick that you can constantly feel it, and the colour fits my skin perfectly, I wore it again a couple days ago and it did last all day, so it's definitely wearable, and I'll be giving this a lot more use in the next few weeks.

Benefit High Beam highlighter

Alrighty, this product has been sat in a draw for months, and for good reason. How are you supposed to blend liquid highlight on top of foundation? If I rub it, it messes up my foundation (obviously) but if I pat it, it goes patchy and shows up dry skin. If anyone could enlighten me, I'd be most grateful! So, I'm not sure how much use this product is gonna get, but I'm gonna give it another try!

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlight
This one is shade 'Pink Shimmer'
Yes, another highlight, because ya girl loves a good highlight. This was one I used to be obsessed with. It's pink with a silver shimmer (silver seems to suit me better). I have super red cheeks and I like my foundation to hide them, so I've never been a blush kinda girl, but this highlight doubles as a bit of blush and is just beautiful! It gives the subtlest hint of  blush and makes you glow like a goddess. I don't even know why I stopped using it, but I'm excited to start using it again!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen

Revolution lipstick in Rebel With Cause

Sleek Matte Me lipstick in Old Hollywood
The next products are all lipsticks, because we all know that I love a good lipstick! These are all ones that I forgot about but are deep red/purple-y colours, which are my favourite colours to wear (maybe that says something about the amount I own?) I don't even remember why I stopped wearing them, must've found new ones I guess. But I'm definitely gonna make more of an effort to wear them more. Especially the revolution one, isn't it just gorgeous?

Aaand that brings us to the end of the products I found that I'd forgotten about. Have you found any hidden gems lately?
Until next time!

The Beauty Products I'll be Taking With Me Into 2018

Hello!
I know, I know, I'm a little late, but happy new year! Did you have a good Christmas? I'd love you to leave me a comment and let me know.
This post is all about the makeup I'll still be using in the next year. I'm so excited, I love these posts!

I love this primer, it just makes your skin so smooth! I've been using the NYX primer for a while, but got given this one by a friend. This is the first time I've been able to compare to two primers and I was actually shocked to realise that this one works better on my skin. This colour actually evens out my skin tone a little too, it's a win-win really, isn't it!

I'm gonna be honest, I never really bought into the hype of these. I always thought they were expensive for what they are and boy was I wrong! After receiving one for Christmas, I've been using it a lot recently and my lips are so smooooth! I've definitely learnt that there's hype for a reason! I've linked the bubblegum one because I think that's the most popular one (?), and 'Santa Baby' obviously isn't available anymore.

I've never been one for high end products, really. I mean, I like them, and I use them, but I don't think I'll ever have enough of them to fill my whole makeup bag. Foundation is one of those things that I don't feel like I need to splurge on. This foundation has great coverage and evens out my skin tone really well! I've used it for ages and I don't plan on giving it up anytime soon!

Would it be a post from me if I didn't mention these lipsticks though? They're my absolute fave and I got New Americana for Christmas which is the perfect red and just completely made me remember how great they are. Will I ever stop talking about these lipsticks? Who knows...

I swear this has been a holy grail of the blogging world for years, but I can totally see why! This mascara separates your lashes really well and sorta just gives them a little boost. Nothing too dramatic, but it's great just for everyday wear.

Would you be part of the blogging world if you didn't love this powder? How does a powder so cheap set your makeup so well? It's the best powder I've ever tried, and even when I try something else I always end up going back to this one. Doesn't everyone? If you prefer another powder, I'd love to know what it is any why, it's so rare to see a blogger using anything else on the regular.

Ah, this is a product sent from the gods, amirite? 3 amazing highlights for such a small price. This is the product that made me fall in love with highlight and I'm still struggling to move away from it!It includes a white/gold highlight, an orange and a pink one. I use the white an pink ones on a regular basis, the orange one I sometimes use on my eyes, but it doesn't really suit my skin as a highlight, unfortunately.

Thanks so much for reading! What products are you taking into 2018 with you?
Until next time!

My Favourite Christmas Songs! | Blogmas

Hello!
True to my word I'm coming at ya with a post all about my favourite Christmas songs today! I'm so excited, is there actually anything better than having a good Christmas sing song? I don't think so.
Alrighty lets get to it!

As I go down this list, you'll notice that my favourite Christmas songs usually have some sort of memory attached, and this is the one I always remember from Christmas parties in primary school - definitely one of my faves to belt out way too loud when Christmas comes around!

For the exact same reason as the first song, I also love this one, it's actually my favourite one for Christmas morning!

I'm not sure about elsewhere, but I know this song is pretty much part of British culture at this point, I don't know anyone that doesn't love this song. It's not your traditional 'yay, it's Christmas I'm so happy!' kind of song, and I actually think that's why everyone loves it. Not everyone moves to New York, but Christmas sometimes doesn't live up to expectations and can be a very stressful time of the year. This song is also one of the only Christmas songs my dad likes, so it's always made me think of him.

Another classic, a little calmer than the other songs, but I think it's lovely.

Fun fact: I actually heard this song for the first time when I was working in retail, and I love it! It's so energetic, like you can't sit still when it's playing. Kelly also does a great cover of Run, Run, Rudolph too!

I love Sabrina! She released this song in 2015, and I have loved it since! She has such a fun and youthful sound, I always put this song on and dance like a maniac in my room to it! Lol I'm definitely not sorry!

I always remember having this playing when we were opening our presents when I was little, as we'd always have the music channel on. It was my favourite Christmas song as a kid, so although it's a sad song, it holds good memories!

Does anyone hate this song though?

That's it for my Christmas playlist! Thanks so much for reading, what's been on your playlist this month?
Until next time

My Favourite Christmas Movies! | Blogmas

Hello!
Today's post is gonna be about my favourite Christmas movies. There's something about them that can turn any bad day into a good one, and make you feel super cosy, am I right? Seriously, Christmas movies are the best movies!

Elf
Who doesn't love elf? No one, that's who. Elf's so hyper and fun and just Christmas personified really. There's no need to explain it is there? You've already seen it right? Please don't tell me you haven't, my heart will shatter!

The Grinch
Another classic, another one you've probably already seen, but what's a Christmas movie post without the Grinch?

Nativity
I love the Nativity movies! They're by far my first choice when asked to pick a Christmas movie! Especially the first movie. It's basically about a primary school class around Christmas time, not really selling it, am I? In the first movie, the teacher is heartbroken, and kinda moody with the kids, they get a new teaching assistant, who is really fun because he's basically a big kid himself. He blabs to the kids that they're Hollywood are gonna see their Christmas nativity that year (even though they're not at that point!), and we get to see the preparation for the nativity. Damn, I'm so bad at explaining things but it's actually hilarious. Definitely one to brighten up a rainy December day!

Love, actually
I know, I know, it's a classic, but it's just such a beautiful movie! I'm not normally a rom-com kinda girl, but there's just something so lovely about love at Christmas time, right?

Bridget Jones
Seriously, who doesn't like Bridget Jones though? Definitely makes me feel less alone when I eat way more ice cream than I should to keep emotions at bay!

Outnumbered
Okay, so technically not a movie, or specifically Christmas related, but you gotta admit, the Christmas episodes are hilarious. It centres around a normal family on Christmas day, very British humour, and I do think it's so funny because it's just so relatable. Definitely worth a watch, I love watching it at the end of Christmas day or on boxing day, when everything's calming down a bit.

Thanks so much for reading!
What're your favourite things to watch around Christmas time?
Until next time!

Reviewing My 2017 goals | Blogmas #6

Hello!
For today's post, I decided to review the goals I made at the end of last year. I actually remember taking the picture for that post, crazy to think that it was almost a year ago! The post is here if you're interested.
I really tried with this picture but it was just not working *cries*

1. Blogging
I said that I still wanted to be blogging, which I am. I was hoping to do a post a week, which didn't really happen. My bog has definitely been all over the place, hasn't it? Sometimes I've stuck to 3 posts a week, sometimes it's been a month between posts! I definitely need to learn to stick to a schedule. Maybe that can be a goal I make this New Year!

2. Planning
I said I wanted to plan more, which definitely didn't happen, although I am less stressed, so maybe I didn't need more planning. It's been a bit of an all-over-the-place kinda year, with finishing education, starting volunteering and job changes. It has really been a rollercoaster and planning hasn't always been possible.

3.Education
I definitely achieved my goal for this one. I finished college and left with the qualification I wanted and am now free of education!

This is such a short post! What goals did you make for this year? Did you achieve any? Leave me a comment and let me know!
Thanks for reading!
Happy Blogmas!
