Goals For The New Year

Okay, so I'm not really one for making resolutions in the new year, mainly because I don't stick to them and get butthurt when I don't reach the completely unattainable goals I usually set. But I figured it can't hurt to realise some goals to keep me focused, can it?
So, here are some goals for 2017 :):
How cute are the fairy lights I used in the picture? I got them from iceland (of all places!) for about £4 I think!
1. Blogging
Obviously, I started this blog this month, and I'm in love with it. However, I did used to have a blog that I later deleted because some people from school found it.I decidd to start again because I did miss it, and I'm surrounded by people that'll (hopefully) be supportive. I hope that this time next year I'm continuing to blog and do what I love. I think one post a week is reasonable, and I hope I can stick to doing that, and obviously more when I have the time.

2. Plan, Plan, Plan
I am constantly complaining that I'm stressed. Stressed about college work, stressed about not being on time, stressed because I don't have time to clean, just STRESSED! So I want to start planing more, create a timetable for myself, plan my meals, when I do my assignments, when I need to clean, when I have free time etc. I did this for a bit in 2016 but stopped about a month ago. I need to get into this again and make it a regular thing. I am a creature of habit, planning and routines make me a happy little egg. :)

3. Education
I don't plan on going to uni this year, so that means this is the year I'll finish education- scary stuff! So I guess my only goal here is to pass the course I'm doing now, which thankfully I'm on track to do :)

Wow, I actually can't think of any more! I feel like 3 is a good amount as that's a small enough number that I can focus on each. So, there are the goals I'll be going into the new year with. Do you have any?
Until next time!

What I Got For Christmas 2016

Get ready for a super long post, theres a lot to get through!
How was your Christmas? Mine was amazing! I know these posts get a lot of stick for being 'braggy', but I personally love reading them. I'm super nosey lol and I just think it's interesting to see these, so I thought I'd do my own.
I was super spoilt this year. Like crazy spoilt. I was not expecting even half of what I got. I have 3 siblings, so I have no idea how my mum could afford to get us what she did, but as usual, she managed. Although this year she really did go all out. Im really thankful for everything I was given and I really wanna make that known.
Anywho, enough rambling. Here's what I got for Christmas:
From my mum:
We started the day with our stockings so it's only right to talk about it first on here right? We use gift bags instead of stockings and they were filled to the brim!
Top to bottom, left to right: My stocking, personalised tub of sweets, hand sanitisers, plastic cutlery, socks, Tanya Burr Lipgloses (Just Peachy, Mistletoe Kisses, Vampire Kiss), bath bomb, reeses lip balm, Hersheys lip balm, chocolate and a blackjack piggy bank containing black jacks (how cool!)
Yes that is plastic cutlery and hand sanitiser -it's a bit of a joke between me and like everyone I know that I prefer using plastic cutlery over proper cutlery, and I like to have hand sanitiser on me at all times lol! I love getting socks in my stocking (I also got underwear but I didn't think that was appropriate to put on my blog!) and the Tanya Burr lipglosses were a huge surprise as I really wanted 'Vampire Kiss', but we couldn't find it in Superdrug!
Clothing & PJ's:
Top to bottom and left to right: Duvet set, 2 Halsey T-shirts and a Nivana T-shirt, Alice in Wonderland PJs and slipper boots, a dressing gown and more PJs!
I got loads of PJs this year! In the bottom left picture, the stripey bottoms and the top to the right of them my best friend and my mum both got me -they both know me so well! I actually picked out that Nirvana top months ago, so I'm happy to finally have it! I don't own any Halsey T-shirts either so it was really nice to get some! I also got a cardigan that I forgot to photograph because I was wearing it.

Top to bottom, left to right: Makeup organisers, Soap & Glory sugar crush and sexy mother pucker sets, avon makeup: nail varnishes in Barely There and Naked Truth, eyeshadow quad in Mocha Latte, single eyeshadow (doesn't have a name), supershock eyeshadow, lipsticks in Toasted Rose, In The Buf and Scarlett Siren, a perfume sample and Anew clensing water, in a nice bag too :)
I was super excited to get the makeup organiser, as at the moment I keep my makeup in a bag, it just seems to always look untidy. Avon is also one of my favourite makeup brands so it was nice to get some new makeup from them. The makeup I got this year is mostly nude, which is nice because I can wear it regularly. I've also been wanting to try the 'Sexy Mother Pucker' lipglosses from Soap&Glory so now I finally can!

Food & Alcohol
Left to right and top to bottom: Licorice Novelties, Freddo selection box, sweet cone and hot chocolate cone (?), shot glasses and mixers, jagermeister and shot glasses, coconut bay and vodka :)
I got some food and alcohol related gifts which is exciting! Licorice novelties are some of my favourite sweets so I'm excited to open them! Coconut bay is one of my favourite drinks too!

Top to bottom and left to right: Electric wax melter, Grinch build-a-bear,Elf build-a-bear, 'The Age Of Bowie' book, 'Elf', 'The Grinch',  monkey build-a-bear and some clothes
I was so surprised to get the wax melt! I saw something similar in Yankee Candle and I really liked it as I'm not allowed candles in my room. These are also the first build-a-bears I've ever had. Mum said she saw the Grinch and Elf ones and just had to get them for me -I love them!

On top of all of this, I also got a laptop! My mother's insane! I actually had no idea I was getting this and it was a huge surprise! I'm in love with it!

Gifts from others:
My boyfriend got me a really nice alice in wonderland themed necklace and a poster, which I was really happy with. From my best friend, other than the PJs I've already mentioned, she got me a Tanya Burr eyeshadow pallete in Midnight Smoulder and a calendar. I got some nail varnish, a shower gel set and a really nice bracelet from my secret santa too. And my sister got me some Nakd bars (I always eat them) and some reeses peanut butter, shes ordered some lipsticks and a T-shirt that haven't come yet too. I don't have pictures of these things but I wanted to include them in this post as I'm super grateful!
Top to bottom, left to right: Galaxy selection box, heroes box, lipbalms, an avon perfume sample

CK One Gold sample, Botanics set, bracelets, Garnier Micellar water and lipbalms, all in a colourful bag :)

These gifts were from aunts, which is really nice, one of them also gave me a nice makeup palette that I forgot to photograph.

I think that's everything. Told ya there was a lot to get through!
I got truly spoiled this year, I still can't believe I got all of this! Thankyou to everyone that got me a gift this year, I love all of it! What was your favourite gift this Chrismas? I'd love to know in a comment!
Until next time!

Christmas Day 2016

This post is probably gonna be slightly all over the place, as I'm gonna be updating it throughout Christmas Day instead of writing it all in one go, but I thought it'd be really fun to document my Christmas. As they say, it is the most wonderful time of the year, and not a truer sentence has been spoken in my opinion! So here goes, be prepared for a post full of pictures, and a lot of rambling, Christmas is a big day, so this post is gonna be a biggie!

How cute is this tree decoration (actually from last year)
My mum actually woke me and my siblings up this year! A 8 o'clock, I was woken to open my stocking (or gift bag in my case!). It was completely full and I got some really nice things!

My little sister was the only one of my siblings that would let me take their picture! This was when we were opening our stockings!
Then it was time to open presents, my mum really went all out this year!

Can you believe I got all of this?
I didn't actually get any more pictures this morning, but after all these presents were done, my mum surprised us all with a big present. All of us got a big present this year which none of us were expecting. Mine was a new laptop, which I'm extremely happy with! It was a huge surprise!
Isn't it beautiful? :O (also sorry for the bad quality)

We all then had a few hours to just do what we wanted. I took my presents upstairs, caught up on blogs, got dressed, put on makeup etc. Before we opened the presents from others (aunts, friends etc.)
Everyone else's wrapping seems to be 1000x better than mine!

This picture with my mum makes me laugh! <3
At 5pm, it was time to sit down to Christmas dinner, with some Bucks Fizz (we had no wine glasses so it had to be in a normal glass lol) and pull some Christmas crackers :)

After dinner it was time to wind down and relax for the end of the day. I ran myself a nice bubblebath and made a hot chocolate to drink whilst watching a movie (I may have had a few chocolates too, but that's allowed, it's Christmas!)

I'm so sad that it's over for another year already! :(
I had such a nice Christmas day, how was yours?
Let me know what you did for Christmas in the comments!
Until next time!

Christmas Tag 2016

I found these questions online and thought they look like a really fun idea to do on my blog!

1. What's your favourite Christmas movie?
Difficult to pick just one lol, I love them all! Obviously Elf is up there- who doesn't like that film? I do like The Grinch, Arthur Christmas, and Home Alone 1&2, and I always think of The Gruffalo as a Christmas film, it seems to be on every year and I've loved it ever since I was little.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
When I was little, we were allowed one on Christmas Eve, which was usually a selection box. But now we open them all on Christmas morning.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas Memory?
Not really, I think it's just nice to have a stress free day. After all the stress leading up to Christmas, everyone seems so much more relaxed on the day. It's nice.

4. Favourite festive food?
Mr Kipling bring out 'elf slices around Christmas time, and they're really nice!

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I tend to get some nice clothes and makeup bits for Christmas, I can't think of one specific thing I like more than anything else, but those are the gifts I'm most excited for every year.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Cinnamon! Anything cinnamon I absolutely love!

7. Any Christmas Eve traditions?
My family aren't huge on traditions, but we usually end up watching a Christmas movie in the evening which I really enjoy :)

8. What tops your tree?
Nothing this year :(. We had to get a smaller tree because we don't have the space for our usual one, and the tree toppers we have were too big.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagant) gift you asked for but never received?
I actually don't know, I don't remember anything specific that I asked for and didn't receive.

10. What's the best part of Christmas for you?
I love the build up. The month of December is so fun! I get so sad when it's all over!

11. What is your favourite Christmas song?
Hmm, 'Merry Christmas Everyone' by Shakin Stevens is fun, also 'The Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues

12. Can you name all of Santa's Reindeer?
I think so... Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donna, Blitzen and Rudolph! Yes! That's 9 - although I've probably made one of them up lol. I do remember learning them all when I was younger but that took longer to write than I'd like to admit lol!

13. Be honest, do you like giving or recieving gifts better?
I'm torn! It's always nice to receive gifts but it's also really fun to shop for gifts and watch people open them. I guess I'll say giving :)

14. Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably?
I fail miserably. Like spectacularly. I could be the worst in there is!

15. Do you make New Years Resolutions? Do you stick to them?
No to both. I used to make them, but give up half way through January, so now I don't bother.

16. If you could only buy one person a present this year, how would it be?
I feel like everyone is gonna say this but my mum, she's amazing, and the strongest person I know. There has been quite a few obstacles thrown our way this year, and she manages to deal with everything. I look up to her. A lot.

17. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?
No, I feel like that's more of an american thing, not huge here in the UK.

18. Candy Canes or gingerbread men?
I actually don't like gingerbread (gasp!), never have. So candycanes all the way for me!

19. Favourite Christmas Colour?
Silver. It's so pretty!

20. Have you ever built a snowman?
Yes, a few years ago we got fairly heavy snowfall, so every one was off school, and all the kids in my street built a huge snowman. I was so cool and fun to do!

I wanted to quickly link a friend's you tube channel. I literally found it by chance yesterday but I'm in love with it! It'd be cool if you could check out the link here!♡
This is one of my favourite videos from her channel!
I hope you have a very merry Christmas! Feel free to let me know if you've done the Christmas tag!
Until next time!

What's in my Christmas Day Makeup Bag?

I saw this idea over on The Makeup Directory and I thought it was a really cool idea! I don't actually go anywhere for Christmas Day, but I love to make an effort, without doing too much. It's nice to spend half an hour doing my makeup in the morning and then have the rest of the day to spend time with others, so my makeup is pretty simple, nevertheless, I thought I'd show you anyway :)

I never really do much for my face anyway, and Christmas won't be much different. I like a matte face, and I suck at the whole highlight/contour/bronzer thing, so after moisturising I'll just be applying a layer of foundation and setting it with powder. I'm using my trusty ol' No 7 'Beautifully Matte' foundation and my colour is 'calico'. I've mentioned this before but I love it, a little goes a long way and it stays on all day, it's not too pricey either which is always a plus! And I'll use the Rimmel 'Clear complexion' powder in 'Transparent' to set it.

Eyes again will be kept pretty simple. I'm a huge fan of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, they're super easy to work with and stay put all day without creasing up or flaking off. The two I'll be using is 'Eternal Gold' and 'Metallic Pomegranate'. 'Eternal Gold' over the lid- it's light enough to highlight the inner corner too, and 'metallic pomegranate' on the outer corner to deepen the look and bring a more wintery feel to it. This also makes it look like I put in a ton of effort when it took 2 seconds!
For mascara I'll be using the SuperShock one from Avon first on my top and bottom lashes, then using the Dramatic Lift one from No 7 on my top lashes, which I actually got as part of a free gift recently and I love. Makes your eyelashes look super long! No eyeliner as I'm terrible at it and no one needs that type of stress on Christmas!

After applying a lip balm, I've decided I'll go with a lip crayon from No 7 in 'Raspberry Red'. Bright reds don't suit me as well as wine/berry colours, so I opted for this more berry toned red. Also it's Matte, which is my favourite type of finish, and stays on really well and apply's well- what more could you ask for in a lipstick? I'm really into lip crayons at the moment, and this one is one of my faves!

I'll probably finish with some setting spray and that's it, nothing too complicated, but enough to look like I've made an effort for the big day!
Do you dress up for Christmas? If so, what's gonna be in your makeup bag for the day this year?
Until next time

My Favourite Albums of 2016

I actually cannot believe that 2016 is coming to an end! Can you believe that it's almost a whole decade since the start 2007? Crazy!
So, this post is dedicated to the albums I've been loving this year. In my humble opinion, we've been blessed this year with the music that has come out. Loads of great albums have come out, so here's 4 of my faves!

1. Who You Selling For- The Pretty Reckless

Anyone that knows me knows that The Pretty Reckless are my absolute favourite band ever, and have been for years. (Fun fact: I'm actually going to see them in January. I'm CRAZY excited!) So, I was hella excited for this album. And I wasn't disappointed either! This one experiments with different styles a bit more than their other albums, but I think that makes it more interesting- each track has a different sound to it.
Favourites: Back to the River, Oh My God, The Devils Back & Mad Love

2. EVOLlution- Sabrina Carpenter
I've followed Sabrina for forever (seriously, anyone else remember when 'Fall Apart' came out?) so seeing her grow as an artist has been lovely. She's actually a few months younger than me, so I feel like I connect with a lot of her music, and this album is my favourite of hers. It has a lot more of a grown up feel to it and is a little more 'real' than her previous album.
Also loving that the start of evolution spells love (hence it being capitalised).
Favourites: Shadows, Thumbs, Feels Like Loneliness & No Words

3. Know It All- Alessia Cara

This one is a new listen, but I'm obsessed. I was just listening to the radio when I heard 'Scars to Your Beautiful', and I loved it. Then I heard the album and I think it's amazing! The songs are so 'real', and I like her voice, has a different tone to it. I've watched a few of her interviews and she's so chill too!
Favourites: Here, Overdose, Outlaws & I'm Yours

Edit: Oops! I just realised that this album was released in 2015 lol. Oh well, its still my jam!

 4. Glory Days- Little Mix
I must admit, I was never really that in to little mix, not my type of music, but for some reason I could listen to this album on loop forever and never get bored. It's just like sass in music form :). It's the ultimate feel-good album, and sometimes we all need a little pick-me-up.
Favourites: You Gotta Not, Power, No More Sad Songs & Nothing Else Matters

I feel like 2016 has been quite a good year for music, what're your favourites? Let me know in a comment!
Until next time!

The Essentials for a Simple Festive Face

With Christmas and New Year just around the corner (literally-can you believe there's only a week left?), a lot of people will be off to parties and celebrations. This time of year is super busy, so sometimes taking 2 hours to get ready just isn't an option. In this post I put together a list of essentials  for a festive makeup look, that will hopefully make this process a lot easier :)

1. A good base

I could say this about any makeup look in general, but the best place to start is with a good base- one that's not gonna cling to your dry spots, not match your neck or come off in the first hour. In my experience, matte stays on longer. My favourite is from No 7 and is the beautifully matte foundation. It's not too pricey at £14.50, but definitely has great staying power, and makes your skin look amazing! You can also get colour matched at your local boots for free which is a plus :).

2. Gold eyes

Gold eye shadow screams Christmas without being too 'out there' or complicated to put on. I recommend a cream one, as they stay on longer and they're super easy to apply, but any will do. I'm a huge fan of the Maybelline colour tattoos, particularly 'eternal gold' for this time of the year. A gold eye with some highlight and eyeliner looks fab and isn't too time consuming!

3. A festive lip

Personally, I really like a bold lip. Lipstick makes me feel confident, so I really enjoy winter colours in general, however at this time of the year, you can't go wrong with a simple red lip -classy and festive! I'll be using one from the Rimmel Kate Moss collection in 01.

4. Setting spray

Setting spray is seriously your best friend, especially if your night is a long one. Just a couple of sprays when your makeup is finished and you're set for the evening. I use one from Avon (unfortunately I can't find it online) as high end ones can be expensive, and I absolutely love it. Easy to pop in your bag too if you feel like you need to freshen up.

5. A smile :)
Cheesy but true, no look is complete without a smile :). Seriously, a smile can transform any look into a fabulous one that really suits you! Enjoy your night and the festive celebrations- they only come once a year!

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! Did you use any of these tips? Let me know in a comment
Until next time!

Introducing Me...

I'm Cait😊
I used to write a blog (I think I started just after Christmas 2014, when I got a laptop), which I deleted earlier this year, for fear of people I knew finding it. Silly really. If you remember my old blog (I doubt anyone would!) which was under the same name, it'd be really cool if you could let me know in the comments!
The idea of a blog really appeals to me. Anyone that knows me, will know that I am quite the talker-I really can talk for England! So the thought of having my own little space on the Internet to talk till my heart's content sounds perfect for me!
So, this blog will be a place dedicated to my pointless ramblings, makeup/fashion and other obsessions. A bit of everything really!
I'm not sure if I'll follow a schedule or anything yet, I'll give myself some time to figure that out i guess
Aren't these just adorable? They were a surprise from my boyfriend and I absolutely love them!

Anywho, until next time!
