Reviewing My 2017 goals | Blogmas #6

Hello!
For today's post, I decided to review the goals I made at the end of last year. I actually remember taking the picture for that post, crazy to think that it was almost a year ago! The post is here if you're interested.
I really tried with this picture but it was just not working *cries*

1. Blogging
I said that I still wanted to be blogging, which I am. I was hoping to do a post a week, which didn't really happen. My bog has definitely been all over the place, hasn't it? Sometimes I've stuck to 3 posts a week, sometimes it's been a month between posts! I definitely need to learn to stick to a schedule. Maybe that can be a goal I make this New Year!

2. Planning
I said I wanted to plan more, which definitely didn't happen, although I am less stressed, so maybe I didn't need more planning. It's been a bit of an all-over-the-place kinda year, with finishing education, starting volunteering and job changes. It has really been a rollercoaster and planning hasn't always been possible.

3.Education
I definitely achieved my goal for this one. I finished college and left with the qualification I wanted and am now free of education!

This is such a short post! What goals did you make for this year? Did you achieve any? Leave me a comment and let me know!
Thanks for reading!

Festive Makeup Picks! | Blogmas #5

Hi!
In the post I have picked some of my favourite makeup pieces for the festive season. There's a lot to get through so let's goooo!

Face:

  • Nivea Day Moisturiser
  • Mac Studio Fix Fluid
  • Benefit High Beam
  • Mac Studio Fix Fluid
I do use quite high end face makeup this time of year, because I feel like when you know your base is good you feel more confident, and this time of year is so busy, so I need something I know wont melt off my face!
Eyes

  • Tanya Burr  palette in 'Midnight Smoulder'
  • Avon eye palette in 'Mocha Latte'
  • 'Fabulashous' mascara
  • MUA eyeshadow in 'Platinum'
I'm fairly certain I got the eye palettes for Christmas last year, and I love them! We all know by now that I don't tend to do anything fancy with my eyes because I'm more of a lip kind of a gal, but a little silver never goes a miss, and this MUA eyeshadow is so reliable! Also, the 'Fabulashous' really makes your eyelashes look amazing! It includes a tube of fibres which you put on as well as the mascara, I've been asked if I'm wearing false lashes before when I've worn this!

Lips
  •  No7 Matte Lip Crayon in 'Raspberry Red'
  • Collection lip liners in 'Damson' & 'Pink'
It's not often I go for something a little less out there when it comes to lips, but if I do, this No7 lip crayon is my fave! Still a red/pinky colour so perfect for the festive season, but lower maintenance if you're busy.

  •  Tanya Burr Lipgloss in 'Mistletoe Kisses'
  • Lime Crime Lipstick in 'Wicked'
Would it be a makeup post from me if I didn't include a lime crime lipstick? I chose a red to keep in line with the festive season, and Tanya Burr's lipglosses are the only lipglosses that I can wear without getting super annoyed at how sticky they are and the name 'Mistletoe Kisses' just screams Christmas!
Nails
  •  Red nail varnish (I have no idea where this one comes from)
  • Avon Magic Effects Silver Fringe Nail varnish
I'm not a nail polish person, I get really shaky hands so I'm rubbish at painting them, but I always give it a go at Christmas! Red a silver is a safe bet for Christmas, so usually I go for something like that - Avon do some great polishes too!

Thanks so much for reading! What are your festive makeup picks?
Happy blogmas!

The John Lewis Ad: My Thoughts! | Blogmas #4

Hello!
I'm sure everyone and their dog has watched the John Lewis Christmas Ad by now, in the UK it's become a traditional part of Christmas. We all know that Christmas is coming in England when this Ad pops up on the TV. Today I'm gonna share my thoughts!
A lot of people on social media seem to not like this ad so much, but I actually really liked it, I thought it was really cute. For those of you that don't know, it centres around Moz the Monster that hides under a child's bed and plays with him all night, this leads to the child falling asleep in the day time whilst playing football, getting haircuts and writing his Christmas list. So for Christmas, the monster gifts him a night light. In the light, the monster disappears so the boy can get a full nights sleep.
It was more relaxing than other Christmas adverts which is nice, and I think it's nice to have an ad that's centred around children that isn't about the gifts they're gonna get, also doesn't it kinda warm your heart that the monster is sacrificing his own happiness for the sake of the child? I'm such a sucker for these kind of things! This was definitely a tear jerker!

What do you think about the John Lewis ad? Do you like it, or were you not much of a fan?
Thanks for reading!

Getting into the Chritsmas Spirit! | Blogmas #3

Hello!
Do you follow me on Twitter? If you do, you'll know I've been in the Christmas spirit since about October, but in this post I'm gonna give you some ideas on how to get in the Christmas spirit if you're still struggling.

1. Decorate
Possibly a little hypocritical because my mum informed me that we're not decorating this year (yes, it was heartbreaking). But if you are decorating this year, is it still to early to decorate? Never. There's nothing that gets me more into the Christmas spirit than seeing all the decorations in the stores and being able to makeour house into our own version of Santa's grottot (okay, not quite, but you get my point). There's something about the whole family coming together to make the house more Christmassy you can't not be in the Christmas spirit then!

2. Christmas songs
I feel like the power of Christmas music is very underrated, seriously, who can be sad when 'Merry Christmas Everyone' is playing in the background? No one. I'll be doing a post later this month telling you my favourite Christmas songs, so look out for it!

3. Christmas shopping
Christmas is the season of giving, right? I don't know about you but I love Christmas shopping, something about guessing what people will like or what their reaction will be is so exciting and fun!  Plus the stores are all decorated for Christmas from like October, so that always helps!

4. Snacks
I don't know about you, but Christmas for me means allll the cinnamon, there's nothing that makes me more excited for Christmas than adding cinnamon to my hot chocolate and porridge. If you like gingerbread (which I sadly don't) that works too! Also food and packaging is so pretty this time of year, green and red sprinkles and snowflakes are everywhere!

5. Movies
If all else fails, movies will always have your back! Is there anything cosier than snuggling down with a hot chocolate and a festive movie on a cold night? I think not! A post will be up soon on my favourite Christmas movies, so stay tuned!

Hope you enjoyed this post! What're your favourite ways to get into the Christmas spirit?
Happy Blogmas!

My Dream Christmas | Blogmas #2

Hello!
I love the Christmasses I get every year with my family, but we all have dreams, you know, if money and time wasn't a problem. I'm going to share with you my dream Christmas in this post.
I got the background picture here

If I had everything my way, I'd spend Christmas in New York, we actually don't get so much snow in England, and very rarely do we have white Christmasses, how magical would it be to experience that? We'd wake up in a lavish hotel with a balcony and a fireplace, and be able to eat a fried breakfast whilst watching the snow (from the cosiness of inside of course!) I'd stay in my Christmas themed pjs, and after breakfast we'd open stockings together as a family (as opposed to having them outside our door for when we wake up like we do now!). After stockings, we'd sit infront of the fireplace, opening gifts, and then get ready for the day. I'd wear a comfortable, but cute outfit, (an oversized jumper with leggings, thick, fluffy socks and boots) to remind everyone that its cold and snowy outside. We'd chill for a bit, watching Christmas specials on TV, and before Christmas dinner we'd go sledging (does anyone else wanna do that so bad?). When we're all cold and tired out, we'd come back and eat a big Christmas roast, with just the right amount of alcohol to make you tipsy, but not drunk and very happy. And when we've all stuffed our faces and can't move, we'd drink hot chocolate, with cream and marshmallows, because it is Christmas after all, and then sit down to a classic Christmas movie (Elf anyone?) and fall asleep!

I don't think I'll ever spend Christmas in an expensive hotel in New York, but a gal can dream, right? What's your dream Christmas?

Welcome To Blogmas! | Blogmas #1

Hello!
December (AKA the best month of the year) is finally here! This year I've decided to take part in what seems to have become somewhat of a blogging tradition, Blogmas. I'll (hopefully) be posting every day on this blog from now until Christmas Day! It only made sense to combine 2 of my favourite things,Christmas and my blog, right?
Hopfully we can get past how tacky I've edited this image (it is Christmas time, after all!), and you'll join me for the ride! To get us into the Christmas spirit I thought I'd list some of my favourite things about Christmas!

  • Christmas music (yep, I'm one of those people that blasts Christmas music from September onwards and I'm not the slightest bit sorry! - even working in retail over Christmas for the past 2 years hasn't lessened my love for tacky Christmas tunes!)
  •  Dark Lipstick, it's totally acceptable to wear that dark purple lipstick this time of year and I am so down for it!
  • Costa Christmas drinks, okay, so I'm not a huge fan of overpriced hot chocolate (yep, I actually don't like tea or coffee, tragic), but I am a fan of cute little Christmas cups!
  • Adverts. Don't get me wrong, I hate adverts as much as the next person, but Christmas brings the John Lewis ad and the Coca Cola ad. Who isn't down to watch them?
  • Fashion. I'm not one for tacky jumpers, but I always know it's not long till Christmas when I start seeing burgandy, red, black and other wintery colours in the shops, you gotta admit, though, winter fashion is a lot better than Summer (and Christmas socks are the best socks!)
  •
Alrighty, 5 things. Don't wanna make this post too long. What're your favourite things about Christmas?
Thankyou for reading! I'll be back tomorrow with another post!

Christmas drinking game: take a shot for every time I type Christmas in my posts this month (don't try this at home unless alcohol poisoning is your end goal!)

Monthly Playlist: November 2017

Hello!
It feels so weird to be already writing my November playlist! I feel like I say this every year, but where is this year going? It feels like the older I get, the faster time goes!
This has been a good month, since the other factory job I had ended (it was only temporary), I went back to volunteering for a bit, I love it so much there, it's just a shame it doesnt pay the bills. This month also saw me start a new factory job. I'm definitely a hell of a lot happier in a factory setting than in retail.
Also, as December is just around the corner, I've decided I will hopefully be taking part in blogmas this year (hopefully being the operative word!), because of this, this will be my last blog post of November, as I'm putting all the spare time I have into blogmas from now on (I completely underestimated how tired full time work would make me!). But I hope you'll be back in December to join me!

Anywho, here's the songs I've been loving this month!

Repercussions - Bea Miller Is it acceptable to put this in again as the music video is now out and I'm loving it?

Goodbye Mr A - The Hoosiers This song keeps getting played loads and loads on the radio at work, I like this song when it came out 10 years ago and I still do, hah you can always catch me singing along!

Heavy- Anne Marie I actually have no reason for liking this song, it's just one of those I find myself putting on repeat again and again lol!

All Night - Steve Aoki x Lauren Jauregui Anyone that knows me knows I love Lauren! Her voice in this though, it's so raspy and honestly I feel like that's when her voice is at its best!

New Romantics - Taylor Swift Okay, so I'm not a big Taylor fan, but I do find a couple gems sometimes, This was always my favourite off the 1989 album and I've found myself listening to it a lot more recently.

Alrighty, those are the songs I've been loving, what've you been into recently?
Until next time!

Sweater Weather Tag

Hello!
We all know how much I love a good tag, right? Since the weather is getting a little colder and the leaves are looking a little nore colourful, I thought it'd only be right to do the Sweater Weather tag, feel free to leave me a link in the comments if you have done/are planning to do this tag!
Time for anyone elses to get their checked shirts and fluffy socks out?
1. Favourite candle scent?
Tragically I'm not allowed to burn candles, but I do really like spiced scents, they're so cosy for this time of year!
2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
I actually don't like tea or coffee (I know!) but theres something so warm and calming about a hot chocolate isn't there? The best to snuggle up in bed with!
3. What’s the best fall memory you have?
In primary school we used to make leaf piles and jump in them which was so fun! (Until the dinnerladies caught us and stopped everyone doing it!)
4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
What kind of question is that? Dark lips allll the way!
5. Best fragrance for fall?
I'm not really a perfume kind of a person, but The Body Shop used to do a cranberry scent this time of year that was heavenly! (Do they still do it?)
6. Favourite Thanksgiving food?
We don't have thanksgiving in the UK, but this time of year I love cinnamon. Gimme all the cinnamon things!

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
Either humid or super chilly, we do tend to get frost this time of year though (even if it gets sweltering by midday!), which is very pretty

8. Most worn sweater?
I have one from Primark that has beads (I think) on the shoulders and it's so comfy!

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?
I'm not gonna lie, I rarely wear nail polish and don't have an answer for this

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
I'm gonna take a guess and say it's football season in the US? It's not over here, but as I'm not a very sporty person I'd probably still say leaf piles any way!

11. Skinny jeans or leggings?
Although skinny jeans make my legs look so goood, I have a special place in my hear for leggings, so comfy and easy to layer up if you're gonna be out all day.

12. Combat boots or Uggs?
Combat boots all the way! I live for the time of year we can wear them without that dreaded foot sweat!

13. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
I've actually never had it (#bloggerfail)

14. Favorite fall TV show?
I don't really watch TV either, I'm a really bad excuse for a millenial.

15. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?
Is Sweater Weather by The Neighbourhood cheating?

Thanks so much for reading, be sure to let me know if you do this tag!
Until next time

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit: Lips!

Arighty, so I posted a drugstore starter kit for face and eyes a while back and completely forgot about the lips! In this post, I'm gonna show you my favourite lip products for starting out a makeup collection, and as most people starting out with makeup are in their teens (so have limited budgets), they'll all be inexpensive!

Lipbalm
Lipbalm is arguably the most important part of wearing a lip colour, as it keeps the lips in good condition, so lipstick looks the best it can. My favourite is Nivea, the one I have is in peach shine and it gives your lips a slight tint while keeping them moisturised (plus, it smells and tastes good, a win-win, right?)

If you're not into that, Primark always do other flavoured lipbalms, which admittedly don't work as well, but they still get the job done! My favourite is the Reeces one, tastes like peanut butter, who doesn't like pb?

Another brand I like is Natural Extracts, I received one set of these for Christmas, and one set for my birthday, but I've only recently started using them. They're a little thicker, so best for overnight use, but they're great if you use any lipsticks (particularly liquid) that can be drying as they condition the lips. They retail for £3.75 for a pack of 4 which is crazy cheap too! (Although they seem to have swapped out the strawberry one I have for a cherry one this year, which I'm slightly bitter about!)

Lipsticks
November means it's time to get my Christmas blanket out for my picture backgrounds again!

Lipstick can be tricky as everyone's into different colours and finishes, it's not so easy to recommend a universal colour, so I'm gonna recommend brands instead.
NYX Soft Mate Lip Creams: Copenhagen- A deep red colour, Rome- a pinky, slightly darker than nude shade

2 of my absolute favourite makeup brands for lipsticks (that are dotted all throughout my blog posts because I can't get enough of them!) are Avon and Nyx. I own 2 of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, and a ton of Avon lipsticks.  I find both of these brand stay on well and don't dry out the lips, and are both under £10, which is amazing for a good quality lipstick!
My favourite and most worn shades

The other makeup brand I'm gonna mention is Makeup Revolution, which is a firm favourite in the blogging world for their bomb highlighters and eye palettes! However, I bought 2 lipsticks from them a few months ago and was completely shocked. They cost me £1.99 each and last for hours, as well as having a great colour payoff. Seriously, I went to a wedding reception wearing one, and through all the alcohol and food I had, it hadn't worn off one bit when I got in! They're great for beginners (if you can just get past how tacky the bright pink packaging is first!)
Had to reuse a picture for this one, I was putting all my pictures in the post when I realised I'd left the makeup revolution lipsticks out - sorry!
 Lipliner

I love lipliner and I'd go as far as saying it's essential when wearing a dark lip colour, as it helps it not to bleed, and also to stay on and show true to colour. Although I haven't yet branched out to higher end options, the Collection lip liners are doing me just fine, they retail at just £2.79, and are perfect for beginners because they come in colours to suit every lipstick shade. I own 3, and for the most part I can match one to every lipstick I wear!
Cappuccino - Brown, Pink (self explanatory), Damson - deep purple

Lipgloss
Vampire Kisses - Sparkly red, Bare Enough - light nude

Honestly, I'm not a huge gloss kind-of-a-gal. It's too sticky for me, but I do love the Soap and Glory ones, I got a set for Christmas last year, and although they aren't at the top of my list, I do wear them regularly (particularly the Sexy Mother Puckers in shade 'Bare Enough').
Tanya Burr is also a firm fave for glosses too, hers are the only glosses I've tried that aren't so sticky (and they taste good!), I absolutely love Vampire Kisses, and wear it regularly. They're also great if you're starting out as they ad a little colour without being too dramatic. I only have a picture of the names because I forgot to take a picture of the whole products (for someone that spent hours on the pictures, I didn't do too well did I?)

Woah, this post got long!
Thanks so much for reading! What makeup products did you use when you were starting out?
Until next time!

The Beauty Products I Cannot Live Without!

 Hello!
We all have our holy grails, right? In this post, imma be sharing mine with you!

Mac Fix+ spray
Alrighty, so no makeup look for me is complete without something to keep my makeup in place all day, although there are drugstore alternatives I do use sometimes (The Barry M one, for example), I always come back to this. After suffering the dreaded days when my face melts off halfway through the day, I wouldn't even consider going out without this on now! My makeup doesn't budge all day when I use this, also, using this before highlight makes it pop that little bit more and I live for it!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Rome
I am a lover of dark lipsticks, although over the years I've found some neutrals that don't look silly on me, I just don't feel complete without a dark lipstick of some sort on, however, I generally find that they're a little more high maintenance, which is a pain. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, though stay on all day, are creamy on the lips and smell good (not a need but definitely boost the chance of me buying it very significantly). This colour is the perfect colour for me! Light enough to be wearable in the daytime, but dark enough that I feel like me wearing it. Ugh NYX just kill it with lipsticks, I could talk about them all day!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
This has been a staple in the blogging/youtube world for years, and for good reason! I first bought this when I was in school (I think maybe year 9 or 10, but I'm not certain), and I've not looked at another powder since. I'm not kidding when I say I've replaced this at least 4 or 5 times! It's cheap and gets the job done. Doesn't make your face cakey and definitely keeps you matte. What more could you want in a powder?

Makeup Revolution Highlight Palette
Where would a gal be without her highlight? This palette cost me just £8 and it comes everywhere with me! My favourite is the pink one as I don't wear blush, but I love the white one too for a more subtle highlight. The orange one comes in handy to highlight my eyes as I generally sweep an orangey shade across my lids. Seriously though, if I lost it I wouldn't know what to do with myself. These highlights are such good quality and so low priced too, you actually can't go wrong!

Lime Crime lipsticks
Okay, so we all know I'm a lipstick fiend, and as much as I like more affordable options when it comes to beauty, we all like a splurge, right? I have Teddy Bear, Fetish and Wicked and I wear them super often. I just find they tie looks together for me, and because I have such different colours, I can guarantee atleast one of them is gonna go with whatever look I decide to do. They make me very happy :)

How pretty are they though?

Wicked, Fetish and Teddy Bear

Top to bottom: Wicked, Fetish, Teddy Bear

Thanks for reading, what're your beauty faves? Be sure to let me know in a comment, Maybe I'll discover something new that I like!
Until next time!

Monthly Playlist: October 2017

Hello!
Here's the thing, this post was supposed to be up much earlier in the week, but I actually ended up having a super hectic week, so unfortunately I didn't have the time to write it. This post is gonna be a playlist post, seeing as October is almost done with (does time ever slow down?). Here's the tunes I've been loving this month!

Repercussions - Bea Miller
S.L.U.T - Bea Miller
To The Grave - Bea Miller  Bea finally released Chapter Three: Yellow this month and I am diggin it! I can't pick a favourite this time as each song is so different! Yellow is all about moving on from something bad and feeling happy again, and I definitely get this vibe from these songs, such a great EP to listen to on down days!

Dime - Rachel Crow  This song came out a few months ago, but sticking with the feel good song, this song is about knowing your worth and I love it! It's so fun to dance around to!

Thriller - Michael Jackson  It is October, after all! I'm not a huge Halloween fan (can you blame me when Christmas is just around the corner?), but I do like listening to some creepy songs for October. Fun fact: When I was really little, I was shown the music video for this song and it terrified me, I was terrified of Michael Jackson for months lol!

Too Good at Goodbyes - Sam Smith  Did I ever picture myself actually playing this song out of choice? Nope. This is one of those songs I kept hearing, and the more I heard it, the more I liked it!

Perfect- Ed Sheeran - Not a huge Ed Sheeran fangirl, but this song is just too damn cute! Ugh, I'm such a sucker for a cute song, also does this song remind anyone else of Christmas? I can't stop thinking about Christmas at the moment.

Your Song - Rita Ora  Seriously, what is it with me and feel good songs this month!

Let Me Go - Haliee Steinfeld & Alesso - I adore this song! I feel like a lot of people have been in this situation in a relationship, and it's not a nice one! You know how much I love a relatable song.

This is a pretty short list of songs this month, as I feel like I've mentioned my other favourites on this blog so many times before! What have you been listening to recently? Let me know in a comment, I love finding new music!
Thankyou for reading!
Have a lovely day!

How Much Is My Face Worth?

Hey!
For today's post, I'm going to be sharing with you the products I use on my face daily, and how much it all adds up to.
This selfie does not feature the makeup I've been wearing more recently, the camera has not been nice to me lately and I can't take a good selfie with the makeup I wrote about in this post *cries*

I see this tag do its rounds on youtube and in the blogging world quite often, and I love to see other people's videos/posts, so it only felt right to do my own. I think this is such a cool idea because we often buy pieces of makeup on their own without giving much thought to how much we actually spend, maybe this is gonna be a wake up call to stop buying so much! Who knows?

Primer:

Foundation:

Concealer:

Powder:

Highlight:

Eye Primer:
NYX Proof It!: £6.00

Eyeshadow:

Mascara:

Lip balm:

Lipstick:

Setting Spray:

How much is my face worth? £76.95

Wow. Daily I'm putting £76.95 of makeup on my face! Not so bad though, right? I've seen some people's face be worth over £200! This was actually so much of a shock though, I expected it to be a fair amount of money, but this is almost £80! Crazy!

Have you done something similar? How much is your face worth? If you've done this I'd love for you to leave a link in the comments, these posts always interest me!
Thankyou so much for reading, I really hope you enjoyed this post!
Have a wonderful day!
Until next time!

My Favourite Makeup Brushes: October 2017

Hey!
I realised recently that when doing my makeup each day, I'm actually starting to gravitate towards specific brushes (as oppose to just using the cleanest brush that'll do the job!). In this post, I'm gonna tell you what they are.

When I first started dabbling in makeup, I was so overwhelmed by the amount of brushes on the market and their uses. Remembering this feeling, I thought doing a post on my favourites and why might be helpful for someone starting out, or just looking to expand their collection, particularly as the majority of the brushes I use are low-end, affordable options.

Ellen Tracy Highlight brush (unfortunately I can't find a link)
When I first got this brush in a set, I actually thought I'd never use it! I used to use a eyeshadow brush so that my highlight would be concentrated and dramatic. While I still do that (mainly on nights out), for every day use I've started using the Ellen Tracy brush as it's bigger and gives a more subtle highlight, which gives the illusion that my skin is glowing and that I drink enough water and get enough sleep. is there anything more you need from a brush? I think not.

Real Techniques Buffing Brush
Alrighty, so I've had this brush for years, and I've had a love/hate relationship with it, but, at the moment I'm digging it, I use it after using a foundation brush to apply my base, and while it takes a little longer, my foundation is perfectly blended, I rarely feel the need to use concealer when using this method to put on foundation.

Eco Tools Lip Brush
I got this in a set (similar one linked). In recent years I've never understood the need to a lip brush, lipstick comes in a bullet the perfect shape to apply the product directly onto your lips, or with a wand that makes application easy, right? I've found that with using a brush, application is much more precise, especially when using matte liquid products that can stain the skin around your lips if your not careful. It actually makes applying a second layer easier too and it's easier to define the shape of your lips. An all around win!

Real Techniques eye brush in 200
When I first got this set, I disregarded this brush, it looked too big and too hard to use. I've recently found, though that it's perfect for applying a one shade over your eyelid, which is what I tend to do. Unfortunately as much as I love and appreciate great eyeshadow skills, I am not one of those magical wizards that possess them, I'm afraid.

Unicorn Flat Top Blending Brush
I got this brush for free in a set the the wonderful Liz drew my attention to. While the offer ended a while back, the whole set of 10 brushes still only costs £5.89 - a bargain if you ask me!
This brush is so fluffy, and is great for blending harsh lines (like if you're a failure at eyeshadow like me and mess up putting one colour on your lid!). I also found it's really good for blending colours on your lower lash line (y'know, for if you're feelin' fancy!). It also looks super pretty, which can't hurt! Considering this set is from Amazon, I'm super impressed with the quality! You can check out my full review here.

I could go on forever about the makeup brushes I love, but these are the ones that I've reached for regularly lately.
Thanks so much for reading! Why don't you leave me a comment letting me know your favourite makeup brushes? Can't hurt for me to find some more gems!
Until next time!

ELF foundation Review!

Hello!
So, just like every other British blogger around, I was ecstatic to hear about the ELF launch in the UK, we've been able to buy their products online for years, but it's not very helpful to match a foundation to your skin when all you have for reference is a colour on a screen, is it?
I, like most others, was super excited to get my hands on their Flawless Finish Foundation, I've had a lot of luck with other products from them over the years, and love a good, cheap foundation as much as the next person.
Of course I had to give it a mention and review on here didn't I? After all, what's a British beauty blog in 2017 without a review of ELF?

As it's nice to finish on a positive, lets start with the negatives. I was actually very impressed with the product, but straight away, the colour range isn't great. I'm not super pale (e.g. pale enough to burn instead of tan, but not so pale that I'm mistaken for a vampire), but the lightest shade was the only one to match my skin, which was always out of stock and I was actually only just able to get it last week! But this shade matched my skin perfectly, meaning that anyone that's super pale wouldn't be able to wear this foundation. Also, there's not much choice for darker skin. The colour range is just not there. Another thing I find with most ELF products is their packaging is super bulky, making it hard to travel with and heavy, although I believe this has been a complaint for years with ELF products and is just something you have to accept if you buy their products, I guess.

See what I mean about how bulky this is?
Thank god it comes with a pump!

The foundation itself though is great. I actually don't have a problem with it. It's budget friendly at £7.50 a bottle, and the coverage is actually pretty good! Doesn't cover everything, but it's enough to cover my tomato coloured cheeks, which I very much appreciate. It can be a little difficult to apply, as it dries quickly, but I find it quite easy, and the finish is semi matte, they don't do a fully matte option, which is a shame, but it's nothing a little powder can't fix. It also smells really good too, which is definitely a bonus. The foundation also lasts all day, which is good, one of my biggest fears when testing a new foundation is whether I'm gonna look in a mirror at 2pm and realise that my face has melted off and there's nothing I can do 'til I get home in a few hours. It comes with a pump too, which I very much appreciate. Seriously, a foundation without one lasts me like 3 uses and a load of wasted product lol!
Overall, the colour range is disappointing, and the packaging could be better, but I really like the product and it's become my new everyday foundation!

Thanks so much for reading, have you tried any of the ELF products? What's your favourite?
Until next time!
