Mini Boots Haul!

I shop in boots alll the time. I absolutely adore makeup, and so I do end up in boots without it being planned quite often (yes, my wallet and I are both very aware of how bad a habit this is!). The other day I was waiting in town for a friend and decided to pop quickly into boots -bad idea! suddenly I was handing over £35 that I definitely didn't need to spend! (although I am assured that we all do it -after all I do work for my money!) I thought I'd do a quick post about what I bought -I'd love to do more blog posts on hauls, but I often only buy one or two things and then by the time I have enough things to show, I've forgotten what I bought and when! Jheez. My wordvomit even transfers to my blog. Why do I always have SO much to say?!

Lets get the boring stuff done first. I picked up a pack of their cotton pads, as I just needed some new ones. The ones I get are the big oval ones as you can take off your makeup using only one or two, as opposed to using like 5 or 6.

I then saw the garnier micellar cleansing gel face wash on offer for £2.99. I saw this advertised and wanted to give it a try, so as soon as I saw it in boots I picked it up. I'm yet to try it, but if you're interested, I'll certainly do a post on it!

Now, onto things a little more fun!
Everyone and their dog seems to rave about the Rimmel lasting finish foundation, and although I love my No7 one, I do want to branch out a little. I decided I'd pick this up in boots. It was £8, which is a lot nicer than £14.50 for the one I usually use!
I'll be honest, I like foundations with full coverage to hide my red cheeks, and this one does not do that for me. I also find that I need to use concealer whereas Ii don't with my other one. It's okay though. Not my fave, but maybe it'll grow on me! I also love the smell of Rimmel products -anyone else?
I picked up a few concealers next, 2 collection ones and one rimmel one. The rimmel one is one I already use on a regular basis, I just repurchased it as I was running low -I love it for under the eyes, especially on days I don't have time to do a full face, really brightens the face and I love it!
The collection ones are a firm favourite of the blogging and youtube community for years. I used to use them all the time a few years ago, I saw them and decided to pick them up again. One thing I do wish is that they had a larger colour range. I'm between 1 and 2 which is slightly annoying.

I usually use the setting spray from Avon, but thought I'd try this one as I was running low on my other one. I love my Avon one so I'm super excited to See if this one is any good. I was recommended this by a friend so I'm expecting big things!

The last things I picked up were a few of these collection lipliners. I've always been super into lipstick but never lipliners. Lately I've been using them a bit more so I thought I'd pick these ones up. I got 'Pink', 'Cappucino', and 'Damson' -'Damson' being my obvious fave here! I've swatched them all and wore 'Pink' on my lips and I love them! Their staying power is amazing and they have a  super creamy texture! Definitely a steal at just £2.50 each on offer at the moment!

Do you ever end up in boots and accidentally spend more money than you should?
Have you made any recent beauty purchases?
Until next time!

Superdrug Studio | Affordable Makeup Brushes

I don't know about you, but I can sometimes find makeup brushes super expensive! For good quality ones (that are super soft and don't fall apart after one wash!), you're sometimes looking at £100s for the basic ones you need -crazy right?

Studio is a superdrug's own brand of makeup brushes, so they don't break the bank, but have actually become a favourite of mine! I got a set which included a sponge, a contour brush (both of which I gave to my little sister,) a powder brush, a lip brush, an eye brush and a concealer brush, well over a year ago and they're still going strong!
A few months ago I also picked up a couple of their blending brushes and a foundation brush and they're now some of my most used makeup brushes!
L to R: concealer brush, eye brush, blending brush, powder brush, foundation brush, blending brush, lip brush.
These brushes are so soft, and I don't find that theres an issue at all with them blending in my makeup (you know sometimes you can get that streaky finish when applying facemakeup with a brush?) and they also wash up really well. To wash them I use baby shampoo, which there doesn't seem to be a problem with, and they dry back to their shape absolutely fine.
Obviously the bristles aren't as soft as one from Mac or Sigma, but for a fraction of the price (they range from £2.49 - £7.49) you can't rreally go wrong! I love using them and would definitely recommend someone that's starting out with makeup to pick up a few! (here's a link to them on the website!)
Do you have a favourite brand of makeup brushes?

Until next time!

I Love Winter | Tag

Can you believe we now have less than a month until spring? I absolutely love winter, this makes me so sad.

I've had these tag questions saved for a while (I do love a good tag post, easy to write and read, and timeless!) and I decided I'd need to get my butt into gear and actually answer them otherwise it'd be spring before this post went up! So here are my answers to the 'I Love Winter Tag':

1. Favourite Lip Product: Dark lipstick is my fave! And although I do wear it all year round, it's definitely a winter thing. The one I've been loving this winter is 'Matte Grape' by Avon, or maybe 'Rebel' by MAC
2. Favourite Drink: I feel like winter is all about the hot drinks, which don't go well with me. I don't like them. I do sometimes like a hot chocolate but, like, I'm not crazy about it. I'd rather just have a glass of water or squash. Sometimes, though, I will make a hot chocolate and put some cinnamon in, which is quite nice so I'll say that.
3. Favourite Nail Polish: I actually don't very often wear nail polish, so I haven't got a favourite
4 . Favourite Candle: Again, not my thing, so I don't have a favourite.
5. Favourite Attraction: Can someone explain what this means? I'm probably getting the meaning wrong but if it means like favourite attraction to winter, the cold weather. I do love the cold :)
6. Favourite Accessory: My leather jacket without a doubt! I've been wearing it non stop. I have no idea what I'll do when it gets too hot to have it on!
7. Favourite Candy: Ummm, probably something like After Eights for the winter, we always have them at Christmas, and you can't have chocolate in the Summer -it'll melt!
8. Favourite Movie: I have way too many! Elf, Home Alone 2, The Holiday etc etc. I'm a huuuge fan of Christmas and I absolutely adore Christmas movies!
 9. Favourite Blush: I never wear it! My cheeks are naturally super red so there's no point.
10. Favourite Thing:The chilly nights snuggled up in bed with a god comedy. It's not the same in the Summer -gets too hot and sweaty to enjoy it!

Well, I hope you enjoyed that post! Be sure to leave me a link if you've done it too!
Do you prefer Winter or Summer?
Until next time!

NYX Primers

In my recent favourites post, I said I'd do a post all about the NYX primers I've been loving, so, true to my word, here it is!

These are the first primers I've ever used, and theyre definitely making me question why I never used one before! Theyre both super affordable and readily available. You can pick both up from your local Boots for uner £20!

NYX Photo-Loving Primer

This is the face primer I got. I wanted to get the green one as I have very red skin, but it was sold out. I went for this one because I figured it would stop that shine you get on photos, being photo loving. You can buy it from Boots for £10, and the one I have is just the clear one.
You need only a tiny amount of this to go all over yout face, and it makes it super smooth! Afterwards, putting on foundation is super easy, I find that the surface is smoother and foundation just sort of glides on (is that the right wording?). I'm using far less foundation now, and it also stops foundation from clinging to your dry areas.
As far as long wearing, I think it does pretty well. I have work at 6am quite often. So this means that makeup will be on my face for over 12 hours many days. I do find by the end of a long day it starts to wear off -my cheeks might look a bit red for example, and im a little shiny, but my makeup stays on a ton better than it did before I started using primer!
Overall I think it's well worth the money, like I said I've nothing to comapre it to, but if youre looking for an alternative to spending upwards of £20 I think you'll love this. Or it's great as a first primer if you're starting to get into makeup!

NYX Proof It! Eye Primer

The other primer I have is their 'Proof It!' eyeshadow primer. you can also pick this one up from boots for £5.50! I can't find it on the boots website for some reason, but you can order it from feelunique here. I I'm honest, I never saw the big appeal of eyeshadow primers. I always thought that they were kind of an unnecessary purchase. Especially with makeup being as expensive as it is. However I was so wrong!!
This makes your eyeshadow stay on for ever. Like seriously. I fell asleep with my makeup on the other night (v v bad, 0/10, would not recommend -my skin HATES me now!) But, When I woke up, my eyeshadow was still in tact. How amazing is that! The only downside I've found is that my eyeshadow is 90% blending most days and having this underneath it makes it much harder to blend. But I can look past it for the staying power it has. It's great for long days, and makes your eyeshadow much more pigmented too. Definitely worth the £5.50 if you ask me!
Do you have any primers from NYX? What do you think?
Thankyou for reading!
Until next time!

Recent Favourites

I was going back and fourth on whether or not to do monthly favourites posts on my blog -I don't feel like I trial enough products month in month out to justify loving new things every single month. I've decided I'm just going to do them every once in a while, so don't expect them monthly. Unfortunately I'm not rich enough for that lol! (although, if monthly music favourites sound cool to any of you, let me know in a comment! I could totally do that!)
Anywho, here's what I've been loving lately:

'Rebel' -MAC
This lipstick is right up my street. It's exactly the type of colour I like -I absolutely adore dark lipsticks! I got given it for Christmas 2015 (why does that feel like it was only a few months ago?) but never really used it. I have no idea why. I rediscovered it a few moths ago and completely fell in love with it. It's super long wearing -it goes on purple and fades to like a pink-purple colour. It also doesn't fade patchy which is fab! It's become my go-to dark lipstick for long days/nights, as it's the only one I've found that doesn't have to keep being reapplied!

Sorry for the shadow on this pic!

NYX Photoloving Primer
This is the first face primer that I've ever used, so admittedly i have nothing to compare it to, but I have noticed a big difference since I've been using it. I've just noticed that my makeup goes on a lot smoother and less patchy, and lasts a hell of a lot longer than it did before, it also doesn't cling to my dry spots as much. And, on top of that, I've found I use a lot less foundation than I used to (perfect if you've not got much money!) I think it's actually one of the best £10 ive ever spent -I don't think I'll ever go back to not using a primer! I'm definitely going to do a post all about the NYX primers I own, so keep your eyes peeled!

'What you waiting for' palette - Makeup Revolution
I was given this for my birthday a couple years ago, and I never really fell in love with it. I tried to use it but always found something else instead. This was something I also rediscovered a few month ago and instantly loved it! It has 12 shimmery shades and 6 matte shades-making it the perfect palette to travel with or use in a rush. At the moment I'm absolutely loving the shades 'Brand New Fans' -a matte brown, I've just been wearing it and blending it into the crease, and smudging it under the eye a bit, it's great if I have about 10 mins to do my makeup lol! I've also been loving 'Sex Chromosome', -a shimmery kind of reddy/brown? and 'Wicked Style' -a matte black. Wow, I've just realised I'm into some super boring shades lol

Tanya burr eyeshadow palette in 'Midnight Smoulder'

I've talked about this in a recent post (see here) so I won't talk too much, but i got this for Christmas and I absolutely adore it! The shadows are so blendable and easy to work with!

Leather jacket
I got this leather jacket years ago, and I put on
weight so couldn't fit in to it anymore. I've recently lost enough weight to fit into it again and I love it! (I realise I've said this many times in this post!) I wear it with absolutely everything! Makes me feel super confident!

Blue banana hi tops
The last fashion favourite I have is these hi tops I bought from blue banana. I actually bought them to wear to a concert (have I talked about it enough yet?), as I'd usually wear some studded boots, but as it was a standing concert, I wanted to wear something that was gonna be comfortable all night,
I feel like these really suited my outfit and just my personal style in general and I'm so happy with them! I'm definitely gonna be wearing them more often!
A super bad quality picture of the outfit I wore (Ft. my leather jacket, blue banana hi tops and 'Rebel'- Mac

I thought I'd add music in because we all know how much I adore music!
Oh my god-The Pretty Reckless
House on a Hill- The Pretty Reckless
Just tonight -The Pretty Reckless
Under The Water -The Pretty Reckless
Was it really a surprise that The Pretty Reckless was gonna be on here? These are some of my absolute favourites from them, although it literally changes all the time! They're also so amazing live! I'm such a fangirl for them lol. You can read the post here.
Outlaws -Alessia Cara
I still think this is the cutest song. It's so nice to listen to when your in one of those 'meh, not happy, not sad' kind of moods. It always put me in a good mood!
'Classic' -MKTO
this is just one of those 'feel good songs', you know? It's the song I put on when I'm getting ready to go out (or sometimes just dancing in my room haha). I love it!
'Ain't My Fault' -Zara Larisson
Another song to dance around to. Name one person that can not dance when they hear this song. It's great haha!

What're your recent favourites?
Until next time!
